Sadie Bell unknown 1988- April 26, 2008
Shortly after 9am Saturday April 26, 2008 Keith found Sadie lying in the sun. Sadie had passed away in her sleep. Sadie was recovering from an early unknown illness that had struck her December 24, 2007. After making such remarkable progress we are all in shock.
Sadie came into our lives over a year ago. She began as a client of Keith's. Keith took a special liking to her so when Sadie's family decided to move south, unable to take Sadie, we brought her home.
Sadie was a postive mare, never let anything get her down. After having teeth removed and not feeling the greatest, Sadie refused to stand in the pasture while other horses were out for a ride. Sadie even knelt down so that I could get on her back to ride with the rest. She let everyone ride her, and although she was not very fast, she made everyone smile.
We'll never know what caused Sadie to leave us, but we know she was happy. This last week Sadie has been very active. Since she became ill in December she has isolated herself from the rest of the mares but this last week she began running again and playing with the other horses. As Keith would go to feed her, she would run with excitement. There was a change in Sadie, a change that was so positive that we had thoughts of letting her walk in the parade this year, but now she is running free forever.
We will miss you Sadie, you will be missed, Love, Keith, Tammy, Tyler, Taylour, Garrett, Chrissy, Bonnie, TracySue, Ketah, Aubrey and Beth and your best friends, Spade, Kapalli,Gracie, Peanut, GG and the whole herd.
A specail thank you to Kathy Whitmore, with out your suggestions for Sadie's feed , we would not have had so much time with her. We know that because Sadie was getting the right nutrition with Buckeye, she was able to recover and run once again with her friends.
